Juno Download joins Trickstar Radio with other labels for a fresh new takeover show

From Sunday 24th March Juno Download will have a new home on the radio, with their own radio show featuring some of the most popular tracks being downloaded and streamed via junodownload.com.

The show, which will air on Sunday afternoon’s from 2pm through to 4pm, is part of a wider group of shows named ‘The Brighton Label’s Takeover’ which will also feature Hip-hop, Soul and Grime material from popular local label QM Records, House label Zulu Records, Serotone Records with the best in Drum n Bass and another label yet to be announced; all featuring monthly on a new rotational slot.

This move follows the station’s continued support for new underground music, as well as bringing the very best upfront quality content to feature as part of the shows. From artist interviews and exclusive guest mixes, the 2-4pm slot on a Sunday now will be a point to listen each week, depending on the listeners favourite music taste.

Anthony Nichols, the Programme Manager responsible for music and content for the newly launched station said:

“…it’s vital that we as a station are working with some of the well-known brands within the music industry, placing them alongside our grass roots programming which we have continued to support since re-launching the station back at the end of 2018.

It’s important we give the best talent a change to grow and nurture their existing skills in a place which gives them the best platform to show what they are capable of. Having Ben Duke, Azariah Sheeley and Stella Cooper hosting some of the new shows is testament to how we as a station can give young broadcasters a chance to shine. Ben and Azariah have only been on air a few months but have already shown how much of a perfect fit they are, and Stella joins us from student radio and had a lot to offer…”

The schedule for this new part of Sunday afternoons includes:

Week 1 – QM Records (hosted by Azariah Sheeley)

Week 2 – Zulu Records (hosted by Stella Cooper)

Week 3 – Serotone Records (hosted by Brad Brown)

Week 4 – Juno Download (hosted by Ben Duke)
